Could you share a bit about your background and academic journey, and how it has influenced your path today?
I was born and brought up in Mumbai, India very playful and high-spirited as a small child. I loved dancing to mystical music. At the age of four, my parents discovered that I was left-handed. People tend to believe that left-handers are more creative as they use the ‘right side’ of the brain. Perhaps this was true in my case!
I didn’t receive any formal training in art but in my free time, I loved to sketch portraits. The only materials I needed to be happy was a pencil or charcoal and paper. My father indulgently watched me take an interest in different hobbies and he was happy as long as I enjoyed what I did. He made constant efforts to encourage and motivate me to explore art and would buy several art materials for me which he gifted to me on different occasions.
After I finished high school, I enrolled for a three-year degree course in K.P.B. Hinduja College in Mumbai but unfortunately I could not complete my graduation. In 1991, after completing the second year of my Bachelor of Commerce degree course, I got married and moved to Dubai, UAE. Marrying at a young age, and soon becoming a mother of two children, filled my life with responsibilities. In the year 2000, my journey towards self-discovery and self-healing began. The power beyond me was shifting me and preparing me for the change. My life experiences had led me to seek answers through art. I believe that true art is characterized by an irresistible urge towards creative freedom and self-expression.
I gradually gravitated towards art and numbers. I was painting my heart out on the canvas and transferring my thoughts on it. All the stories that were buried deep in my mind started pouring out onto my canvas. I was awakening in my art.
How did you discover your passion and purpose? Could you tell us more about your profession, your achievements, and any defining moments along the way?
My passion for art and reading numbers has been my own discovery process; which taught me values of life to be happy, whole, accepting and embracing true self without getting into other people’s drama. I am a professional Artist and Authored 2 books on Numerology. In the expansive canvas of my life, spanning 34 years in the vibrant cityscape of Dubai, the narrative unfolds as a mesmerizing journey of self-discovery and artistic metamorphosis. From the olden charm of Dubai to the sleek lines of the modern metropolis, I have witnessed the city’s evolution from a bird’s eye view, a perspective that has profoundly influenced my artistic endeavors. Since 2006, I started exhibiting my artworks on various platforms and galleries. I did two solo exhibitions. “Circle of Life” in 2021 and “Enlighten Vision” in 2018 and many group exhibitions. Studying the reactions and responses of the audience cultivated and nurtured my own growth as an artist. I have sold many artworks in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, India, Ireland, Korea, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Africa, UK, Poland, Argentina and the United States. In 2021 I received cultural Visa from government was a rewarding experience. All these achievements made me be more responsible to contribute to the values of society.
Reflecting on your journey, what have been some of your most rewarding experiences? And were there any challenges that ultimately strengthened you?
I was working in advertising field as a project manager for many years. One project which I was working on and sharing my ideas for the brand campaign made me realized I can paint and started taking commercial projects for interiors. When I reflect on my journey my expression of art while creating an art piece comes by imaginatively, looking for joy and happiness to the communities. My painting is the abstraction of nourishment which comes from Mother Nature. Another push was during 2020 inner and outer harmony and peace was misaligned. It is natural disaster which we faced. Staying at home, working from home made me write and published my first book on numerology “Self Discovery through numbers”. This year 2025, I published my second book on Numerology “The art of achieving success through numbers”.
There were a lot of challenges along the way as nothing comes easily. I had to learn the craft of each and every aspect of my choices. It helped be to strengthen my goals and motives. These challenges of life helped me to strengthen myself first to help others.
What advice would you like to offer readers who aspire to achieve success in a similar path as yours?
My advice to the readers is pursue your passion but plan your passion…. How you want to cultivate your passion to build your dreams into reality. Make a short term goals than the long term goals. Small achievements will empower you to achieve bigger goals. Success stories are built on the vision what you have. Make your own path to shine your own individuality. As an artist I had to go deep dive into my inner self to find my own individual style of art and paint it. Writing about numerology also made be researcher and with the validation of my clients I could write about their stories in my books.
