Everyone wants clean and bright skin, but not always can we walk up to the parlor and spend a fortune in getting a facial done. We are forced to save facials for special occasions; but worry no more. Here are some DIY home facials which shall be your savior for all the times you cannot go to the parlor or a spa!

  1. Cleansings1

Oil can prove to be a great cleanser. You need:

  • 1 tbsp yoghurt
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2tsp lemon oil

Simply mix them up into a paste which isn’t too liquidy but not easily pourable either. Massage the mask over your face and wipe it off soon after with a cloth dipped in warm water. Daily use will prove to be a great therapy. This works equally well for all skin types!

  1. Soothe: Essentially for dry skins2

You need to combine:

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar/lemon juice

Apply the mixture on your face and let it stay for 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water followed by a cool rinse. It can be applied thrice a week and it shall gradually moisturize the skin.

You need to mix:

  • 2 tbsp yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Apply the mixture on the face and let it dry for around 20-30 minutes. After this, you will feel a sensation of tightening around the face and neck. Leave it for a little more time, until there is more firmness. Having waited for almost an hour, wash it off with warm water followed by a cold rinse.

Mix:

  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Prepare oatmeal separately; rather thick than the regular times. Add the above mixture into cooked oatmeal and apply it as a scrub. Avoid the eye area and rub it over the face gently. Wash it off with warm water and wipe it dry. The mask can be used twice a week and the oatmeal works perfectly as an exfoliating agent!

 The oatmeal and fennel mixture is an ideal mask to moisturize dry skin.

You need:

  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp oatmeal (grinded)
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • 1 tbsp honey

Boil the fennel seeds to make tea. Let the seeds steep for a couple of minutes and then strain the seeds and let the tea cool down at room temperature. Mix 1 tbsp of fennel tea with 1 tbsp of oatmeal and 1 tbsp honey. Apply the mixture and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it off with warm water followed by a cool rinse. This can be done twice a week as it shall gradually nourish your dry skin!
