Russian Artist Natalia Lukomskaya Presents Her Dubai Debut Exhibition, “About A Girl.” Dubai, UAE – November 16th, 2023: Markofken Art Space will host Natalia Lukomskaya’s first exhibition in Dubai, “About A Girl.” The Russian Artist’s exhibition will feature 52 paintings, including a few from the years 2020 and 2021.

“About A Girl” is a profoundly personal series and a product of a one-and-a-half-year labor of love that explores inner world complexities and self-discovery. In her work, Lukomskaya explores the profound questions we all face: “Who am I?” and “Where am I headed?” Through her art, viewers are invited on an introspective journey, which includes exploring their inner child, who is creative, inquisitive, inspired, and outwardly hopeful.

An important part of the work focuses on psychological insights, recognizing that people are characterized by three distinct states: adulthood, parenthood, and childhood. “Often an adult forgets about their inner child,” says Lukomskaya. “When my children were born, and I became a mother, the main state that I found myself in was the role of a parent or an adult, and my inner child was somewhat forgotten. But the state of an inner child is in charge of the unconditional love, joy, and creativity. It`s the inspiration that an artist, and just anyone, could not live without.”

In each section of Lukomskaya’s artwork, there are snippets of description for each painting, but all the themed sections contain stories like “A Girl and The Sea” or “A Girl and Umbrella” that read similarly to a storybook. “The paintings seem to be somewhat naїve and light, but for me, they are emotionally deep and sincere,” shares Lukomskaya. “Because there is a lot of light and love on my path, my works reflect it.”

The founder of the Markofken Art Space, Sergey Markofken, expressed his admiration for Lukomskaya’s evocative work: “Renowned for her evocative canvases, Natalia masterfully explores the intricacies of the human psyche with a finesse that captures the viewer’s attention. With a demeanor as graceful as it is easygoing, the profound depth of her works offers insightful reflections on the myriad layers of the human experience.”

In addition to the exhibition, Lukomskaya is hosting six masterclasses in Dubai, giving attendees the chance to explore their inner worlds through the creation of art. Participants are guided through a step-by- step process during each masterclass, enabling them to create distinctive artwork while exploring deep psychological topics at the same time. The workshop offers a separate masterclass for children focused on their artistic development and self-expression.
