MEHNDI:
Traditionally the Mehndi ceremony was centered towards then nation of hands and feet of the bride and the groom. This tradition no longer seems to be practiced for the groom. For bride, the ceremony is still celebrated with great joy. Mehndi designers have been modernised. Modern mehndi having glitters, colours and beads along with other accessories, have replaced the traditionally used henna.
INVITATION CARDS:
The invitation cards have been modernised and digitalised. The cards have become more fancy and are elegantly decorated with pictures of bride and groom. The invitation can be sent digitally by a video or multimedia message.
VENUE & DECORATION:
Temples and guest houses are no longer in use as a marriage venue. Inn are commonly preferred now. The open wedding system has been replaced by a Banquette hall. Destination weddings are also getting popular day by day.
use of flowers has been reduced in decoration. Lights, curtains and other accessories are being used to decorate the venue. Use of finished interiors has gained popularity.
DRESS:
Use of heavy lehnga for bride is still in fashion. The dress of bride and groom are now selected to compliment each other. Variety of colours apart from red are being used for bridal lehenga. Golden and Off-white are being preferred over red. The groom can be dressed in indo-western rather than a simple coat suit.
MANDAP:
Elegantly decorated with curtains. Prefer circular geometry because it is in fashion. Keep decoration moderate and matching your venue interior.
