We, the homo-sapiens or human beings, are the most magnificent creation of Almighty, His first and last masterpiece, a culmination of the art of life, an au naturel! It was when He created a man in his own image that He put down his brush, His canvas was complete, His work was done at last. And what do we do with what he created? Preferably, we work, eat, sleep and repeat. Maybe a few hours are gone socializing and commuting every day. But do we ever realize that we have been given a hell of a body! It can be a liability or an asset, depending on how we treat it. It can be a setback or a powerhouse, only if we take care of it! Besides, it is our responsibility to take care of our body. Build it, feed it and nurture it. After all, at the end what we have is our bodies and ourselves. So yeah, besides everything else, maintaining our health and fitness of our body also comes in one of the essential tasks that need to be carried out day in day out.

So, let me break it down to you. First timers, beginners, this is for you. A few stretches and warm up exercises will do you good before stretching yourself out for the big workout regime of the day.

  • Jogging – One of the best ways to get those body muscles up and working is go on a run. A jog around the block will not only loosen up your blocked joints but also release the very crucial, Endorphins, commonly called ‘the happy hormones’ and rightly so. These hormones when released make a person acquire an optimistic outlook on the day. They are released when we exercise or go through some strenuous body workouts. Besides, running sprints will make you more disciplined in character, and also a whiff of morning air never hurt anyone!   • Exercise – Working out, getting those lazy bums to work, putting those flabs to stretch and elongate those well rested muscles is the only way you are going to put some work into your body. A few reps in, you will start feeling the burn. No sugar coated way to say, those burns will hurt but so does getting out from the comfort zone! Once you feel the burn you can be sure that your body is getting the beats right. Choose any workout that suits you personally. Do not go with the popular opinion. Challenge yourself every day to exercise and build up the stamina. Gradually, work on enhancing your stamina but avoid overdoing it. If it’s not suiting you, change the gears, change the routine. Go for a full body workout first rather than concentrating on one particular part of your body first. It will help you in building up strength which in turn will be a benefit when trying out more challenging routines.7
  • Yoga – If exercise regime is too tough for you, you can try your hand on the ages old science of Yoga. Stretching your body parts, one at a time, releasing the tension once done is the primary approach to Yoga. It can prove to be a 30-40 minute practice of rejuvenation and relaxation. Yoga essentially emphasizes on the holistic development of the body which can’t be ignored. The poses do not require much equipment except a yoga mat and a cushion, if needed.image

Each of the above methods is equally effective. But it is up to you to decide what works for you and what does not. Maybe a combination of two or even three can help. Again it all depends on how much your body is willing to take. Also, one very important point to keep in mind is to ‘Listen to your body’. Your body knows a whole lot about itself. Listen to it and move forward. Eat Right, your body needs fuel and not just anything will do, you have got to feed yourself nutrients if you are really serious about your health and well-being. A small effort made each day to maintain one’s health and well-being goes a long way in the days to come.
