The unrequited love of regal demeanour seasoned with surreal grandeur; Padmavati. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to roar at the box office, with his Indian period drama film, Padmavati. The film features finest actors of this generation like Deepika Padukone adorning the role of Rani Padmini, Ranveer Singh camouflaging as besotted Alauddin Khalji, and Shahid Kapoor as the warrior king Rana Rawal Ratan Singh.
This 14th-century unquenched love’s story is a fabricated depiction of the life of Rani Padmini; often regarded as one of the most beautiful women from history. Mesmerized by the angelic beauty of Rani Padmini, in 1303, Alauddin Khalji, the Turkic ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, besieged the Chittor Fort in Rajputana to suffice his desire to capture Rani Padmini. She was the wife of, then ruler of Mewar, Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, who lost this battle, guarding honour of his lady love. History will always find its ways to resurface and if it’s done the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s way, it will be nothing but marvelous.
